Colin Daniel joins Mansfield Town on loan

Daniel joins the Stags on loan until the end of the season

Colin Daniel has joined Mansfield Town this morning on loan until the end of the season, where he will be hoping to get regular first team football after failing to win a place in the Vale squad on a regular basis.

Daniel joined Vale from Mansfield in August 2012 after playing 75 games for the Stags, so he will be more than familiar with the surroundings at the One Call Stadium (Field Mill).

Rob Page has said all along that he would encourage players to go out on loan in order to play regular first team football and Daniel goes with his full blessing.

The Vale manager said: “He has had a couple of clubs showing interest in League Two and a couple of non-league clubs who are ambitious to get back into the League.

“Like I have always said, he is not in my eighteen at this moment in time, so go out and play games. Mansfield showed an interest and he went and had a look at their game on Saturday.”

Stags boss Adam Murray said:“He’s got a lot of pace, a lot of energy [and] a superb left foot. He can create, he can score. The chairman I know is really proactive in us getting promoted now we’re in the mix so we’ll see where that goes.”
