Vale romp home to take the tirle

minute Kapend ran on to a ball over the top but from a wide angle put the ball well over the bar and soon after a Steele cross turned into a shot that Burton collected at the foot of the near post.th minute saw Burton at full stretch to tip around the post. Vale’s pressure continued and in the 10rdA young Vale team kicked off this game knowing that a win would bring them the Western League title but anything less would not be good enough. Vale did the early pressing and a shot from just outside the box by Andoh in the 3

 

minute after a back pass lacked power and Kapend was in to challenge the ‘keeper but eventually the ball squirmed out for a goal kick. A facial injury to Reeves occurred during defending a corner saw a long delay to proceedings.th minute Haughton had a shooting opportunity but again the ball flew over the bar and soon Kapend saw a good shot collected at the second attempt. Vale almost scored in the 25th minute and a corner was conceded from a free kick and Clarke blocked the shot that resulted to nullify any danger. Boot was then collecting in action soon in action collecting a shot that caused no problems. In the 18thShrewsbury’s first real attack came in the 13

 

  on the edge of the box and he rammed it into the corner of the net.Steele Vale then defended a dangerous situation in the box very well to retain their 2 goal advantage. Vale made it 3 in the final minute of normal time in the first period as an Andoh cross found   to finally put the ball away in a scramble.Kapend minute as Andoh cut into the box and centred hard into the 6 yard box where Lloyd’s attempt was blocked allowing th slotted it home to take the first step towards the title. Vale extended their lead in the 37Lloyd minute as a free kick from the left saw Bergin flick the ball on to the back post where ndVale took the lead in the 32

 

The second half got off to a slow start and the visitors made their 3 substitutions in the first 8 minutes as they attempted to get back into the game. The game was being played in midfield with no chances arising at either end but Haughton had a shot charged down as Vale tried to add to their tally. With 15 minutes left Vale applied some sustained pressure that saw a powerful Lloyd shot well held by Burton.

Vale almost added to their lead when Lloyd played a ball through for Haughton who drew and beat the ‘keeper but his shot was blocked on the line by a retreating defender. Shrewsbury then hit the bar with a rasping shot that Boot appeared to touch but a goal kick was given.

 

  April in the League Cup Semi-final. th cracked in a long range effort into the far corner of the net as Vale clinched the League title in style and now welcome Wigan Reserves on 20Bergin who ran in to smash the ball home. Vale continued to press and Clarke saw a header clutched just under the bar after a good attack but Vale finally made 5 when SteeleVale did make it 4 with 8 minutes left when a powerful shot from Andoh was beaten away and although Haughton went for the loose ball it was
