A fan's view of things Port Vale

We Valeites should count our blessings

frightening from a Vale perspective, for if we hadn’t have found a legitimate way out of admin we could have quite easily found ourselves out of club and ground, facing a similar lonely situation that the Sky Blues exiled on Jimmy’s Hill are baring up to. In recent times, given there have been some rumblings of discontent towards our Smurf, with talks of large cut-backs and uncertainty over Micky. However, the news today of realistic pricing strategies for next season, a similar budget minus the development squad and the possibility that we may see Micky, smiling, signing a new contract in two to three weeks on the official website, has once again brought a degree a faith back in ‘Papa’. This presents all the signs of a leader who is both diligent but considerate of the fans in equal measure. Considering we find an alternative way to nurture the likes of Hugil, we’ll be orate! Sitting in the baron Sixfields stadium watching what was essentially two away teams on Sunday, a harrowing thought crossed my mind… this could have quite easily have been Vale at somewhere like Stockport.
