Vale take on Latics this afternoon
Vale reserves take on their Oldham Athletic counterparts this afternoon at the Latics’ training ground and it is a chance for several players to impress the manager.
Vale will field a strong side, for the Central League fixture with Manager Micky Adams in attendance as he weighs up his options ahead of the weekend’s fixture against Coventry City.
The fixture sees a return to action for both Rob Taylor and Joe Davis, who have each been out injured recently.
But perhaps more telling will be the inclusion of several players who have either started or been on the bench in recent first team games.
