Sheffield Utd v Port Vale - FA Cup 1st Round

PUBLIC SAFETY MESSAGE

Sheffield Utd v Port Vale

RoundstFA Cup 1

December 2012st1500 hrs, Saturday 1

Safety is of paramount importance to everyone associated with football and we seek your support.  We would ask that you take a few moments to read the requests being made of you. South Yorkshire Police, Sheffield Utd FC and Port Vale FC are working together to make the fixture at Bramall Lane Stadium a safe and enjoyable football event for all those attending.

The turnstiles will be open from 1.30 pm. Snack bars are available before and at half time. Please arrive at the ground in good time. There has been recent occasions when supporters have missed the start of the match due to queues at the turnstiles.

There will be a robust police and club steward operation to deal with those attending the turnstiles in a drunken state. We have limited capability to provide away supporters with licensed premises before attending the stadium. We advise that if supporters wish to call for a drink en-route they do so out of South Yorkshire and then attend the stadium in time for the start of the fixture. Coaches will attend the agreed Rendezvous Point for escort to the stadium. Excessive drinking and football does not mix and represents a danger to all those attending this fixture.

Please help us to help you.

Your support and assistance is very much appreciated  I hope after the fixture to be in a position to acknowledge the positive conduct of Port Vale supporters. .

Please enjoy the Sporting Event and a good day can be had by all.

Chief Inspector Caroline Rollitt
