3 August 2018

Port Vale go into their opening game of the 2018/19 season as favourites according to Sky Bet, with Neil Aspin's men priced at 6/4 to beat Cambridge United on home soil.

The visiting side are ranked as 9/5 underdogs, whilst you can also find odds of 23/10 for the game to end all square in Burslem.

Vale ran out 2-0 victors when the two teams last met at Vale Park as Cristian Montano's brace sealed three points. For a repeat of that scoreline, prices of 11/1 are available, whilst another two goals for Montano would see you pocket £280 from a £10 bet.

In the first goal scorer market, Tom Pope is favourite for Vale at 4/1. Ricky Miller then follows at 5/1, whilst Scott Quigley (11/2) and Louis Dodds (13/2) are priced slightly further out. You can also get 33/1 for Leon Legge to score the opening goal against his former club, or 10/1 is available for the defender to find the net at any time.

If you fancy the Valiants to claim all three points and keep a clean sheet, odds of 10/3 are available for Aspin's side to win to nil. Match specials are also on offer, where Vale are ranked at 13/2 to score two or more in the first half, or you can get 7/1 odds on them to score in the opening 10 minutes.
