The Valiants head into the game unbeaten in the league so far this season, having picked up two draws in their opening two games against Colchester United and Northampton Town.

The Vale came out out of the Northampton Town were wondering how they'd finished the game with only a point, having dominated chances and possesion throughout the match. Dave Kevan said this week that the Valiants have to "capatilise" during their dominant spells.

Heading into the game, John Askey will be without midfielders Manny Oyeleke and Rhys Browne, who are both suffering from hamstring injuries. Ryan Lloyd managed to get a few minutes under his belt on Tuesday, after featuring against Burton Albion.

I know the amount of tickets we’ve sold, there’ll be a good support from our end so that can only lift our players

The new boys on the block in the EFL and causing quite a stir amongst fans, Salford City were promoted to the football league back in May for the first time in the clubs history, after beating AFC Flyde 3-0 at Wembley.

'The Ammies', like the Vale, have solid start to the season. One loss away at Crawley Town has been balanced out by the opening day win against Stevenage, beating them 3-0 in front of the Sky Sports cameras to make it a historic and memorable day for the club.

One to watch: Scott Wiseman

A player with plenty of league experience under his belt before signing for Salford City, Wiseman is a full back who loves to bomb forward and stretch defences across the back line.

On the opening day of the season against Stevenage, the full back caused their defence plenty of issues but how attacking he would be down the right hand side.

Wiseman signed for the club on a one year deal at the start of last season, and was rewarded for his form shown in non-league with a contract extension at the end of the last campaign.

Talk:

John Askey:  “It probably puts more pressure on them knowing that everybody is out to beat them, so I think we can go into the game relaxed, knowing that we have been doing quite well and just seeking three points as we do every game.”
