As Vale travel to Lancashire on Saturday to face Accrington Stanley, we take a look back at what happened in this fixture earlier in the season at Vale Park.

The last time these two sides met came earlier on in the season at Vale Park where Accrington were victorious 2-1.

A brace from Billy Kee secured all three points for Stanley as they rose to third in the table.

David Worrall opened the scoring for the Valiants on the 22nd minute who fired low and hard past ‘keeper Aaron Chapman.

The score was level on 36 minutes as Kee drilled his strike into Kelle Roos’ bottom corner as Vale failed to clear their lines.

The winner came on 62 minutes where Kee finished off Michael Brown’s men with a tap-in from close-range.

The loss saw Vale drop to 22nd in League Two, level on points with bottom Forest Green Rovers.
