North Road Academy in Cobridge is Stoke on Trent’s first dedicated Muslim school for children from 5 to 16 years old. The school currently uses the Vale Academy indoor sports hall twice a week for general physical education.

To further strengthen the Club’s links with the school, Vale Head of Academy Coaching Warren Campbell recently attended a Diversity and Racism event at the school to advise the pupils with understanding how best to deal with racist issues.

Warren was able to draw on his prior and extensive experience as a Police Officer and also his BAME background in sport, to engage with the children and discuss diversity and racism in an open and friendly manner.

“This was a most enlightening experience for our pupils” commented the School’s Head Teacher Mr Bashir.  “They all gained from the event and Warren used his undoubted experience to make the discussions and topics covered useful and informative.”
