Harness Reflects on Season So Far

14 November 2017

Midfielder, Marcus Harness, feels as if Port Vale have now clicked under manager Neil Aspin after a poor start to the season.

The Burton Albion loanee believes that his teammates are showing their class in the last few weeks and is delighted to be a part of the side.

“I’m happy to come here and have the opportunity to play games”, said the 21-year old.

“It’s the first time I’ve had a constant string of games so we’ve been working hard after a slow start but, we’ve been trying our best.

“It didn’t work out for the first few weeks but, I feel like something has clicked and earlier on in the season, I don’t think we would have been able to get a point at Newport.

“I think it’s starting to come together and we are looking like more of a solid team.”

After signing on-loan until the end of the season, Marcus says he is enjoying life in a Vale shirt and has benefited from the move.

He said: “I feel like I can physically get about the pitch now.

“It’s all about learning in every game so it has benefited me.

“To improve, I want to get some sort of end product. I fancied myself to get a goal before now but it hasn’t come. I am confident it will come, but I want to be creating and scoring goals.”

Now being apart of the side since the summer, Harness believes that the Valiants have the ability to rise up the league table after their slow start to the campaign.

“I feel like with the ability we have in the team that we should be higher”, said Marcus.

“We got off to a slow start and I’m confident that we can get something out of this season. It’s still early and there are a lot of games to play.

“If we take every game as it comes, we have every chance in making it back up the table.”
