The club are pleased to announce that Will Atkinson's contract has been extended until the end of the season.
Vale's number 12 signed for the club on a short-term deal back in October, and has since made 11 appearances in all competitions.
His most memorable performance to date came away against his former side, Bradford City, at the end of October. Vale secured their first away league win of the season in dramatic fashion thanks to Atkinson's 93rd minute strike, ensuring all three points headed back to Vale Park.
Manager John Askey says there were a variety of factors that ensured Atkinson a contract extension with the club.
"Will's got a great attitude and has a done well since he arrived at the club in October. Most importantly he's a good footballer.
"His versatility is vital as well. He's always looked comfortable in whatever position he's played in, whether that be full back or in the midfield which is a very important for us."
