Applause on 64th minute for Phil Simic tonight

12 March 2019

During tonight's Sky Bet League Two fixture versus Yeovil Town, there will be a round of applause in the 64th minute to commemorate the life of Phil Simic who sadly passed away recently.

Phil was a lifelong Vale supporter and his father started following the club back in the 1960's, so black and white runs through the family. He loved the Vale dearly and he attended matches with his wife Dawn, close friends Neil Penny, Scott Donaldson, Matt Heathcote and James Foster.

He will be sorely missed by the people of Stoke-on-Trent, and he was well known from his days as a bouncer in Hanley and throughout his career in the body building scene. With Phil passing aged 64, we would encourage all supporters to join in with a minute's applause.

Rest in peace, Phil Simic.
