Welcome Back - Tom Pope

Tom Pope re-joins Port Vale.

18 May 2017

We are delighted to announce the signing of striker Tom Pope from Bury.

The former Valiant has returned to Vale Park after departing the club two years ago, when he left for Gigg Lane.

Pope becomes the first summer signing under Michael Brown, as he looks to strengthen his attacking options.

The striker joins the club on a two year deal from Bury, where he made over 80 appearances, scoring 14 goals.

The 31 year-old is no stranger to Port Vale and has been a life long fan of the club, which he helped fire to promotion back in 2013.

Tom scored 33 goals in all compeitions that season and was named the Player of the Season.

During his first stint with the club, Pope played just under 200 games and scored just under 70 goals, over the course of five seasons.

The striker will now link up with his new team mates when pre-season gets underway, as they look to prepare for the new season.
