Preview

The Valiants are back on the road this week with a trip to Glanford Park, the home of high-flying Scunthorpe United.

When the two teams met earlier this season, Scunthorpe were in a similar position in the league table and Vale were pushing for a play-off spot.

Vale were comfortable winners, hitting three past the visitors with a goal from Anton Forrester and a brace from Alex Jones. Goal machine Josh Morris was on the score sheet for the Iron.

Vale are still unbeaten in the league under Michael Brown after drawing their last match at home against Bury, and will be looking to carry on the unbeaten record.

The Opposition

Scunthorpe United look to gain ground on Sheffield United who are sitting two points ahead of them in first place in the league table.

The Iron, who have been top of the table themselves for a large portion of the season hope to continue gaining ground on the Blades.

Last time Scunthorpe and Vale met in the league at Glanford Park towards the back end of last season, a solitary Paddy Madden goal was enough to earn the Iron the three points.

Talk
Guy:
“We’re not going into it expecting to lose, definitely not. We know as a team that we can beat them and we are going to go there all guns blazing and get after them.

We know they are a good team and how well they have been doing this season. But it is not about them, it is about us and what we do on the pitch on Saturday.”

Team News

Callum Guy and Tyler Walker will be looking to start after both of them had impressive debuts against Bury last weekend, and Chris Eagles will be looking to push himself into the starting 11.
