During the season the Port Vale Youth Team and First Team have been working with our local primary school, St Nathaniel's Academy from Burslem.
They have helped to give them opportunities, to take part in literacy projects attending four games and taking part in activities provided by the Port Vale Foundation.At the end of the project, the group of children came to the Academy building to interview our first year apprentices.
They wanted to find out about their time at school and their current life at the club and at Stoke 6th Form college.
This initiative also gave the apprentices opportunities to improve their communication skills, to show how important education progression is for the future and to explain their aspirations.
It helped them, reflecting that if they work hard on the pitch they will have the chance to follow four past members of the Academy who have played in the first team this season.
