Port Vale defender Ben Purkiss felt the timing of Burton Albion’s second and third goals were crucial in Saturday’s loss.
The Brewers scored either side of half time to put the game beyond the Valiants and, following the match, the right back discussed how important that was.
“I think once we went behind you’ve got to look to steady the ship really and we conceded a goal jut before half time which takes the stuffing out of us,” he told Valiant PlayerHD.
“Then we think we’ll go again second half and we’ve seen clips, Duffy has done that a few times this season, where he’s cut inside.
“So it’s tough to take at those times and tough to come back from and the fourth goal is a poor goal.”
