Page: ‘It Was A Battling Performance’

2 March 2016

Port Vale manager Rob Page felt his side stood up to the test well in difficult conditions at Boundary Park last night.

Sam Foley scored the opener against Oldham Athletic but Liam Kelly equalised for the Latics from the penalty spot as the points were shared.

Torrential rain and the poor pitch made sure it was a hard fought battle for both teams and the Vale boss said he was relatively pleased with the outcome.

“In the main I’m pleased with them tonight, it was a battling performance,” he told Valiant PlayerHD.

“We knew we had to do the other side of the game, the not so pretty side of the game tonight.

“It’s a typical Oldham away on a Tuesday night, the pitch was heavy, raining, windy and I was pleased with them because they stood up to the test and were close to coming away with the three points.”
