Kennedy Joins On Loan From Cardiff City

25 January 2016

Port Vale have completed the loan signing of Cardiff City winger Matthew Kennedy.

The 21-year-old has penned a month-long deal at Vale Park and, subject to international clearance, should be eligible to play in Tuesday evening’s Sky Bet League One clash with Doncaster Rovers.

A Scotland under-21 international, Kennedy is a skilful winger who first broke through the ranks at Kilmarnock before transferring to Everton in 2012.

He enjoyed time on loan at Tranmere Rovers, MK Dons and Hibs before moving to Cardiff last summer.

Kennedy will wear the number nine shirt during his loan spell at Vale Park.

Speaking about his new signing, manager Rob Page told port-vale.co.uk: “I’m delighted to have secured Matty’s signature.

“He’s a terrific player and one that I believe can really help us. I’ve tracked him for a while so I’m really pleased to have got him in the building now.”
