Betting Preview - Southend United

12 August 2016

Port Vale are 5/4 with Sky Bet to beat Southend United at Vale Park.

The Valiants entertain Southend, in the clubs first match at home this season in League One and also the first competitive match for new manager Bruno Ribeiro.

In the most recent meeting between the two sides the Valiants beat United, the score that day was 3-1 to Vale and you can get that at 18/1.

During that game, Vale were leading 3-0 at half time, so if you have a sneaky feeling that could happen again, you can get odds of 50/1.

Despite a disappointing defeat midweek for Ribeiro's side, the first goal of the new campaign was scored by Anthony Grant and he is 7/2 to score anytime.

The bookies have Rigino Cicilia, Carlos Saleiro at 6/1 to open the scoring, followed by Anthony de Freitas at 13/2 and JJ Hooper and Anton Forrester at 7/1.

Southend come into the game on the back of two defeats to Gillingham and will be looking to bounce back, Sky Bet make them 9/4 to come get the win.

Stephen McLaughlin scored the first goal in both of the games and he is 17/2 to do so again.

Or if you just can’t split the two sides then the draw is 9/4.

There are plenty more odds for this game and every other match tonight at www.skybet.com.
