Port Vale striker Ajay Leitch-Smith was delighted to get his first goal for the club and said even he was surprised by the manner in which he scored.
The 25-year-old out-jumped two Barnsley centre halves to give the Valiants the lead in the first half on their way to a 2-1 win at Oakwell.
Speaking to Valiant PlayerHD following the game, the forward told of how happy he was to have netted for the first time this season.
“It’s brilliant,” he commented. “I’ve been wanting this for the past few games, I thought I’ve been a bit unlucky with a few of the chances that I’ve had but I’m just delighted I’ve got my first one now.”
He added: “I think it’s the biggest jump I’ve ever done in my life to be honest, I was a little surprised myself and thankfully it went in the back of the net and we went one-nil up.”
