Betting Preview: Coventry City vs. Port Vale

6 March 2015

Fancy A Flutter On The Valiants This Weekend?

Port Vale are 19/10 with Sky Bet to beat Coventry City on the club’s very first trip to the Ricoh Arena.

Rob Page takes his side to face the Sky Blues on Saturday, kick-off 3pm, in what will be Tony Mowbray’s first match in charge.

The Valiants were beaten 1-0 by Oldham Athletic midweek but they are 8/1 to bounce back from that loss and beat Coventry by the same score line.

Winger Mark Marshall has scored three goals in his last five games and the 27-year-old is 3/1 to net inside 90 minutes or 9/1 to bag the opener.

Vale strikers Tom Pope and Ben Williamson are battling it out to be crowned the club’s top scorer for the season and the duo are 11/2 to both score against Coventry.

The Sky Blues have had a difficult time of late but will be hoping the appointment of Mowbray will lift spirits around the Ricoh.

The former West Brom and Middlesbrough boss was in attendance at Barnsley on Tuesday night as Coventry were beaten 1-0.

His players are 13/10 to make up for that defeat against the Valiants, however, and Frank Nouble is 11/2 to open the scoring.

In Coventry’s last game at the Ricoh Arena they beat high-flying promotion hopefuls Milton Keynes Dons 2-1 and they’re 8/1 to beat Vale by the same score tomorrow afternoon.

The last time these two sides met, the Sky Blues came away from Vale Park with all three points, scoring a last-minute second goal to earn a 2-0 victory.

Manager Rob Page would be delighted if his side could turn the tables this weekend and return up the M6 with a valuable win. The Valiants are 14/1 to do so by a 2-0 score line.
