Come Along And Receive Coaching To Help Improve Your Game
The Valiants Academy has produced current first team stars like midfielder Chris Birchall, goalkeeper Sam Johnson and winger Ryan Lloyd and now you can follow in their footsteps by coming along to the Grassroots Development Centre.
The club’s Steps To Excellence offer a unique opportunity within the professional game for children and young people to progress from playing grassroots football to potentially becoming a first time player.
The Grassroots Development stage allows children of any ability to come along and receive coaching to help improve their game.
The sessions, which start on Saturday 21st February, will take place each weekend and focus on developing:
1. Shooting and finishing
3. Passing and receiving
4. Ball mastery
5. Ball control
7. Running with the ball
Vale Academy Manager Sevvy Aslam said: “Port Vale's Academy will run weekly Development Centres all year round.
“These centres are aimed at keen young football players aged five to 14, who are organised according to age groups and will receive an enhanced level of coaching, with focus on the technical aspects of the game with equal emphasis on fun and participation for children of all abilities.
“Players are monitored by coaches, and depending on ability, will have the opportunity to progress to the elite centre, or Port Vale's Academy.
“We are extremely proud of our Development Centres and both the Academy and Port Vale are committed to ensuring that the best opportunities are provided to all members of our community to develop to their full potential, regardless of background.”
