Talking to the press on Monday afternoon, the goalkeeping coach said the Valiants have now set the benchmark for future performances with their victory at Banks’s Stadium.

“Like Rob said after the game ‘you’ve set your own standard there and you can’t drop below them’,” Grew commented.

“It’s quite easy to do that but we face Doncaster on Saturday who we have had them watched two or three games and they’re a good striking force.

“So we need to be on our toes, another game but at least it has given us a foundation to work on for Saturday.”

Doncaster face Crewe Alexandra this evening while Vale have a free week leading up to Saturday’s clash.
