Rob Page Wants To Build Momentum

Vale Boss Previews Preston Clash

Port Vale interim manager Rob Page wants his side to build on their current momentum when they face Preston North End this weekend.

The Valiants head to Deepdale for the second time in 11 days on Saturday having played the Lilywhites in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy just last week.

Simon Grayson’s side is are fifth in the Sky Bet League One table after ten games while Vale got back to winning ways last weekend with a 4-1 victory over Yeovil Town.

Speaking to Valiant Player, Page admitted his players will face a difficult test at Preston but believes they have the confidence to go there and get a good result.

“We know we’re in for a tough game,” he said.

"We’ve seen first hand what they’re capable of doing in the JPT, albeit they had half a dozen lads that were either away on international duty or injured at the time.

“We know they’re going to add quality to what they’ve already played against us but from our point of view we’ve picked a little bit of momentum up as well.”
