Rob Page Wants Port Vale To Impose Themselves On Preston North End

Vale Boss Discusses JPT Tie At Preston

Port Vale interim manager Rob Page wants his side to impose their style of play on Preston North End this evening.

The Valiants begin their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy campaign at Deepdale, kick-off 7.45pm, against the Lilywhites, who beat Shrewsbury Town in the first round of the competition.

Since Page took over, Vale have taken a more expansive, quick-passing approach to games, which has resulted in improved performances.

Speaking exclusively to Valiant Player, the Welshman discussed the upcoming cup tie against Simon Grayson’s side.

“I think we’ve got to try and match them from a physical point of view, be disciplined in our defending like we have been in the last two away games to a point,” he said.

“Then we need to get on the ball and play our stuff and try and impose ourselves on them.”
