Rob Page Expecting Tough Test At Fleetwood Town

Vale Interim Boss Talks Cod Army Clash

Port Vale interim manager Rob Page expects Saturday’s trip to Fleetwood Town to be a tough test but believes his squad has enough quality to get a positive result.

The Valiants head to the Fylde coast to take on Graham Alexander’s side on the back of impressive displays against Barnsley and Bradford City.

Now Page is hoping Vale can build on those performances and put the Cod Army to the sword at Highbury Stadium, kick-off 3pm.

Speaking exclusively to Valiant Player, the Welshman discussed Fleetwood’s impressive work-rate before highlighting the talent of his own players.

“From a work ethic point of view they will be right in at us, they will be closing us down with a high tempo and they play quite an attack minded game,” he said.

“Certainly from their point of view at home they will come right at us, there will be stages of the game where we will have to weather the storm.

“But then there’s enough quality in our changing room to hurt them as well so as long as we’re organised and hard working and from the fans point of view that’s what they want to see the players doing.”
