Louis Dodds Disappointed At Loss To Preston North End

Vale Midfielder's Reaction To Defeat At Deepdale

Port Vale midfielder Louis Dodds was disappointed to come away from Saturday’s game against Preston North End empty handed.

Paul Gallagher and Alan Browne scored for Simon Grayson’s side either side of a red card for Vale defender Stephane Zubar.

The Valiants did arguably have the better of the first-half at Deepdale, though, with Michael O’Connor and Mark Marshall both hitting the side netting.

Speaking exclusively to Valiant Player following the match, Dodds admitted the loss was tough to take.

“It was disappointing because I think we’ve made the early running and could have nicked the lead to be fair,” he said.

“Then we get done just before half-time which is also a bad time to concede and in the end it turned into quite a hard afternoon following the red card.”
