Rob Page Putting Pleasantries Aside Against Gillingham

27 November 2014

Vale Boss Ahead Of Trip To Kent

Rob Page will put pleasantries aside this weekend when Port Vale take on a Gillingham team containing a couple of familiar faces.

The Valiants head south to face Peter Taylor’s outfit at Priestfield Stadium in Sky Bet League One on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.

Page knows current Gills coach Andy Hessenthaler well from his playing days at Watford and is also familiar with midfielder Doug Loft, who enjoyed a successful spell as a Vale player and captain recently.

Speaking to Valiant Player ahead of the game, the 40-year-old admits it will be nice to see the duo but insists it will be business as usual once kick-off comes around.

“It will be nice to catch up with people like that,” Page said.

“Andy Hessenthaler was a great servant to Watford, a great player in his time and like I said I think he has been at Gillingham for a few years and he works hard for the club.

“It’s nice to catch up but then come three o’clock it will all be forgotten about until five o’clock.”
