World Cup Fantasy Football Update

27 June 2014

At the start of the FiFA World Cup we announced a fun Fantasy League set up for fans to compete against each other for pride.

We are now down to the Last 16 of a tournament that has been disappointing for all England fans, with the squad only managing to get one draw out of 3 matches. However, it’s not all doom and gloom because the tournament as a whole has been brilliant so far with controversy, entertaining matches and goals galore.

With this said there was plenty of chances for Vale fans who entered the clubs official World Cup Fantasy Football League to pick up points in the 48 games played during the eventful group stages.

Well done to Rich Garrett’s ‘One Man Wolf Pack’ who at this half way stage of the tournament is in the lead, but by only 1 point with Chris Barker’s ‘Seth Bottomley XI’ right on his tail.

Usually the biggest stars of the world don’t perform as expected in the World Cups, however this year has seen a change in this trend with big stars of the game such as Neymar and Lionel Messi picking up plenty of points. This being said stars can be made at the Tournament and this year the upcoming prospects that have shined have been James Rodriquez and Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Top 5 players so far are:

Lionel Messi - 39 points

Thomas Muller  -38 points

Neymar - 38 points

James Rodriguez - 36 points

Xherdan Shaqiri - 33 points

The Top 10 Fan teams of the League are as follows:
