Rob Page Gives Thoughts Ahead Of Coventry City Fixture

  • Boss looking forward to Saturday’s game
  • First time Page will have managed against one of former clubs
  • He is looking for 100% from his players

Port Vale boss Rob Page is expecting Coventry City to be tricky opponents this weekend and believes his side will need to put in maximum effort to come away with three points.

The Valiants welcome Coventry to Vale Park tomorrow, kick-off 3pm, on the back of a two-week break from competitive action.

Page, who spent three years at the Ricoh Arena during his playing days, does not feel overly sentimental about facing his former club and is treating it like any other game.

Speaking exclusively to Valiant Player in the lead up to the fixture, the 40-year-old said his players will need to be on top of their game to beat the Sky Blues.

“They’re no different to us, there’s three points up for grabs and I know they’ll be well organised, hard working and they’ve got quality as well,” he said.

“He’s used the loan market quite well and we know we’re in for a tough test and we’ve got to give 100% to give ourselves the best chance of getting anything out of the game.”
