minute with a powerful shot across goal that he tipped around the post for a corner. Vale immediately responded with a second goal as Kapend found Lloyd who drove the ball home from the edge of the area. McGivern then crossed for Campion to get in a header at the far post which was well saved by Arestidou. Morecambe then had their second shot of the game but it was well over the bar into the back of Bycars.thMcGivern was next to go close as a cross was headed back across goal by Lloyd and McGivern’s acrobatic shot flew a yard over the bar. A flick over the top allowed Campion a shot at goal from an angle but it was blocked by the ‘keeper. Lloyd set up Kapend but again Arestidou came to the visitor’s rescue with a save. Andoh was next to test him with a shot from 25 yards that he got down well to. Kellerer finally brought Boot into the game in the 28

 

minute Andoh saw a shot that looked goal bound tipped away at full stretch. Vale continued to press and Kapend did well down the left and it eventually led to a shot by Moore that was smothered by Arestidou, who was having an excellent game to keep the score down to manageable proportions. Vale continued to look the most likely to add to the score but Morecambe reached the break still in touch.thIn the 34

 

     minute.nd as Campion converted a McGivern cross in the 72th minute and a few minutes later Andoh had a shot blocked inn the penalty area. Andoh then beat 3 defenders but his cut back from the by-line was cut out by the ‘keeper. Vale extended their lead in the 57th minute as McGivern charged up the left wing and his cross eluded a number of players before finding Kapend at the far post and he side footed home. A Lloyd cross to the far post saw a Campion shot saved at the foot of the post as the pressure continued, but Vale added their 4th a Lloyd cross headed over the bar by Campion in the 48 Vale’s first real attack saw

 

 Vale almost added another a couple of minutes later as a loose ball found Campion but Arestidou dived at his feet to deflect the ball around the post. As the game came to a conclusion Byron Moore saw a close range shot blocked by Arestidou which was soon followed by one of the visitor’s rare attacks that finished with a shot going just wide as Vale ran out easy winners.
