Winger working hard to start

Port Vale’s flying winger Kaid Mohamed spoke to the Valiant Player cameras as Vale begin preparing for Saturday’s trip to SkyBet League 1 leaders Leyton Orient (3pm). Read on to see what he said:

On making an impact as a substitute so far this season...

It’s good to be playing obviously, everybody likes to play, and nobody likes to be on the bench.

It’s frustrating but I just get my head down and work hard and try and do well at training and try and impress the gaffer.

It’s hard coming to a new club, if I can work hard in training and keep making an impact on a Saturday like I did, hopefully I can get my chance.

On the win against Carlisle United…

It was a good win we needed that. There’s a great atmosphere at training. Everybody is happy but we need to kick on now and get some points.

On being ready to start…

You’ve got to keep fit and keep sharp and when you get the call you’ve to take it.

Hopefully when the time comes I can take my chance and stay in the team.

I need to have a good week’s training, I am feeling sharp, and hopefully I’ll have a good week and be in the manager’s plans for Saturday.

Even if I’m not starting, I am in his mind – I want to be playing and starting, fingers crossed.

On settling in at Vale…

I want to get that good run, I want to stay in the team for 10 games and keep going and doing well and score goals and create chances and be a threat.

I’ve come here to play - I am enjoying it here.
