Wednesday's matchto take place on training pitch
Having kept a close eye on the weather ahead of Wednesday afternoon’s reserve fixture at home to Tranmere Rovers the club have made the decision to switch the match to Vale’s training pitches.
The game had been scheduled to take place at Norton United’s Community Drive ground, but heavy rain on Monday and the weather forecast for Wednesday have forced a rethink.
With more heavy rain forecast for tomorrow morning, it was decided that the training pitches, which have excellent drainage, were the better option.
Rob Taylor and Joe Davies are both pencilled in to play in the match, but there will be no place for Gavin Tomlin who is still suffering from a toe injury picked up in training.
The match will kick off at 2.00pm.
