Fantasy Football catch-up

23 October 2013

We pick out another couple of teams

After a week off during the international break (how did we all cope?) it was ‘back to normal’ last weekend, which for many of us meant regularly checking our phones for latest scores and scorers etc.
Quite a few of our Fantasy Football managers have prospered this week, with quite a few high scores knocking about, so I suppose really that means it is balances out and no really advantage to many.
So, let’s pick out a couple of teams and see how they have done.
First of all we have picked out ‘In It To Win It’ (Matthew Cliff): Matthew has gone for Asmir Begovic in goal (9 points) and four in defence, consisting of Leighton Baines (1), Kyle Walker (5), Kolo Touré (9), Erik Pieters (8). Matthew has gone for four in midfield - Mesut Özil (15), Emboaba Oscar (6), Adam Lallana (10) and Aaron Ramsey (11). Up top Matthew has Luis Suárez (Captain, 20) and Olivier Giroud (8) If you have totalled up the points, you will already know ‘In It To Win It’ amassed 93 points last week.

Next up we have gone for a team that weren’t too far behind. Mark Leese’s  ‘CPD Mark’s Valiants’ managed a respectful 89 points. Mark has Shay Given (0 points) in goal, and a back three of Kyle Walker (5), Winston Reid (1) and John O’Shea (0) – not to impressive so far eh? His midfield netted him 43 points - Ravel Morrison (5), Steven Gerrard (9), Eden Hazard (18) and Aaron Ramsey (11).  Up front Luis Suárez (Captain, 20), Olivier Giroud (8) and Roberto Soldado (12) added a further 40 points.

Throughout the season we will feature random teams in the matchday programme and occasionally on the club’s website, so keep an eye out, you may well get a mention.
