Vale sign Kaid Mohamed

1 June 2013

Former Cheltenham Town player joins Vale

Port Vale Football Club has signed left-winger Kaid Mohamed on a two-year contract.

Mohamed joins the Valiants from former League Two rivals Cheltenham Town, where the Welshman made 47 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring seven goals.

The 28-year-old Cardiff-born forward said: “I am excited, League One is a fresh start and a new challenge in my life.

“I had a good two-years at Cheltenham but I am looking forward to League One now.

“I’ve played for Swindon Town in League One, didn’t really have a chance, played about nine or 10 games, a couple of sub appearances, this will be a better chance for me."

Mohamed admits that manager Micky Adams was the major factor behind signing for Vale.

Mohamed said: “I like the gaffer, I like what he has done in the past, I knew he liked me and Port Vale are moving on and pushing from last season.

“Last season Vale were flying, they were at the top of the league all through the season, they are a strong team and I am looking forward to joining them.”

The former Swindon Town player will join his new team-mates for pre-season which includes a friendly against Micky Adams’ former side Leicester City on July 23.
