Surprise experience for Vale family

Amongst the drama and excitement of Saturday's crucial 2-2 draw against Northampton Town, we welcomed some very special Port Vale fans and gave them a surprise family experience to remember.

Norman Dobson a life-long Port Vale supporter attended the match with his granddaughter Kelly Scally and her husband Steve Scally. Norman, Kelly and Steve have been to many Port Vale games over the years but for eight-year-old great-granddaughter Isla Scally it was her first ever Port Vale match – what a debut!

We surprised the family spanning four generations by giving them a pre-match experience they will never forget, by inviting our Port Vale family to meet all the non-playing players and Chairman Paul Wildes for pictures and autographs.

As the match edged closer, we gave our family exclusive dugout access - they were able to get a front row seat for the players warm-up and even got to sit in Micky Adams seat.

As the players finished their warm-up we gave them fantastic photo opportunities with our players such as top goalscorer and League Two Player of the Year Tom Pope.

We hope they enjoyed the day and welcome to the Port Vale family Isla!

Chairman Paul Wildes said: “Embedding ourselves at the heart of the community remains a priority for Port Vale Football Club and I want to see as many families at Vale Park as possible.

“I would like to thank Norman, Kelly, Steve and Isla for accepting our invitation and hope to see them many times in the future.

"We will be launching a Junior Supporters' Club ahead of the new season and also have plans for a new family area at Vale Park, which is a little further away.

“We want to attract the fans of the future and the next generation of Port Vale fans and to do that, we need to give them unforgettable experiences, like the one we offered Isla."

In addition to the special Port Vale family, the club also gave out ten golden tickets - each containing and unforgettable experience or prize. Prizes include membership to the Junior Supporters' Club, the chance to meet Micky and his team during pre-season training and a half-price Season Ticket.

If you are one of our winners, please follow the instructions on the letter.
