BURGE READY

27 September 2012

Midfielder hoping for a chance to start

Ryan Burge says the team are hoping to bounce back this weekend following the disappointing result against Gillingham and the lads are preparing to do just that.

He said: “With the squad we have got there is no reason why we can’t continue performing well whether it is at home or away from home.

“We will keep training well and keep doing the things we have been doing and hopefully get the right result at Bradford at the weekend.”

Burge missed out with a long-term injury last season and was transfer listed. Many thought they had seen the last of him, but the midfielder is keen to show his worth and is prepared to be patient.

“I was out all last year and that was a nightmare, but this year I am really pleased to be back playing. The team has been doing well.

“It is a long season and there are over forty games in a season and we have only played eight so I am not worried at the moment.

“Obviously I would like to be playing but the boys have been doing well and as soon as I get my chance I will be ready.

“It was frustrating to sign for the club and then get injured straight away, but I’ve had a good pre-season and I am feeling okay now.

“I just want to be playing football and I have just got to be ready whenever I am called upon.”

Ryan is another who has come out and praised the support the team has been getting this season and he feels there is more to come at Bradford.

He said: “So far this season the fans have been great. At Fleetwood recently they didn’t stop singing throughout the whole game.

“They turned out at the weekend and unfortunately we didn’t get the result, but hopefully we will bounce straight back and give them something to cheer about.”
