RIP HARRY McSHANE

Former Vale player has passed away

He began his career with Blackburn Rovers and served the RAF during the war, guesting for the Vale in three games in February 1945. He scored 3 goals, including 2 in a 5-0 victory over Stockport County. Former Vale winger Harry McShane has died aged 92.

He later played for Huddersfield Town, Bolton Wanderers, Manchester United and Oldham. He also became a scout for United, being credited with discovering Wes Brown. Harry was also the father of Lovejoy actor Ian McShane.
