Vale welcome George Foster on board as Chief Scout

Vale have this week appointed the vastly experienced George Foster as Chief Scout and Manager Micky Adams is more than happy to have him on board.

Micky said: “It is good to have any sort of scout on board after a while without anybody at all. The coaching staff have been out at matches and I am out most nights watching games, so it will take a little bit of pressure off me.

“It is important that managers are fresh and coaches are fresh for their work on a daily basis, so we welcome George, who has vast experience in the game.

“He has worked with me before at Coventry City and he has worked for some of the top managers in the game – Dave Jones, Glenn Heddle, Tony Pulis - so he brings a wealth of experience.

“He knows what we are looking for and with him comes a network of scouts, so from having nothing, thanks to Paul and Norman and the Board, we have now got somebody in place that will ease the burden from our point of view, and he is good at his job too.”
