Foundation launch women's walking football sessions

Port Vale Foundation Trust in partnership with Staffordshire FA are delighted to offer a brand new weekly recreational opportunity for females to participate in walking football activity, and we would love you to join in with all of the fun.

Is Walking Football for me?

The rules of walking football have been adapted so there is no running, very little contact and it has kick-ins instead of throw-ins. This format provides less stress on the body, and with no real sudden change of direction or cutting movements, the game allows participants to play without apprehension and at their own pace.

Whilst it was initially designed for older players, it could also be an ideal way to play for those with mobility issues or returning to sport after prolonged injury. Playing football at a slower, walking pace is a fantastic way to keep fit, reduce the chance of injury and falls, but also ensuring you maintain an active social life.

Our brand new session takes place indoors every Tuesday 7.00-8.00pm for anyone aged 18+ at Port Vale Academy Sports hall starting Tuesday 18th June 2019.

For more information on the sessions please contact the Foundation Trust on 01782 757066 or email foundation.trust@port-vale.co.uk.
