Port Vale bounced back in emphatic fashion on Tuesday evening having beaten Yeovil Town 3-0 at Huish Park, and Cristian Montano has expressed his delight at being back amongst the goals.

From the off, it was one-way traffic as Vale dominated the proceedings from the get-go and they were rewarded with 13 minutes played, as Montano converted a Manny Oyeleke cross to give the travelling Valiants a well-deserved lead.

Just over 15 minutes later, Connell Rawlinson turned home a Tom Conlon corner to put Neil Aspin's side two goals to good, before Montano added his second of the game to ensure the three points head back to Burslem. The winger smartly finished from the edge of the box from a Luke Hannant cut-back, and the Colombian was happy to be back on the score-sheet.

He said: "It will do a world of good for my confidence. It's what I'm capable of doing if I play higher up and I'm happy with the three points today.

"We kept a clean sheet as well and every player worked hard, we understood what we were doing, we were there for each other and the communication between all of us was very good.

"We're happy to get two goals from open play today as we've not been getting enough and for myself I'm happy to get two goals today.

Manny Oyeleke played a starring role in Tuesday evening's performance picking up an assist for the first goal, as well as putting in an all-round solid performance to help the boys on their way to victory.

Montano has claimed that the chemistry within the squad has never been better and that he has a great understanding on the pitch with the likes of Oyeleke and Hannant.

He said: "We worked the ball quite well for both goals to be fair down the side of them and I made two late runs into the box and luckily both of them saw my run and head me because I didn't think they did!

"It's the understanding we've got - I'm quite close with both of them. With Luke, when I've played last season with him down the left.

"With Manny, obviously we've both been injured, we've spoken a lot and we know what we want from each other when we play. If I play on his side, I tell him what I want when he's got the ball and what kind of run I will make and today it worked out quite well."
