In the Dugout

Phil Brown is the new man in charge at Barrow having managed his first game just last weekend away to Leyton Orient. Brown’s first full-time managerial role came at Derby County in 2005 but was sacked just seven months into the job.

His most successful tenure was with Hull City where he took them to the top flight for the first time in their 104-year history. He also managed Southend, Swindon and Hyderabad in the Indian Super League.

Man with the Armband

With former captain Mark Ellis leaving the Bluebirds in January to join Solihull Moors, Ollie Banks now leads out the side. The midfielder spent his youth career at his hometown club Rotherham United and made one appearance for the Millers before going out on loan to non-league clubs before signing for Gainsborough Trinity and working his way back into the EFL. Once back in the Football League he played for Chesterfield, Northampton, Oldham, Tranmere and Swindon.

Banks has made 42 appearances scoring 12 in all competitions making him Barrow’s top scorer. The 29-year-old currently sits on 14 yellow cards, one off a three-game ban. His last goal came in mid-March in a 2-1 defeat to rivals Carlisle United.
