Swindon Town and Exeter City continued their good form as they defeated Morecambe and Lincoln City respectively.
It was an entertaining weekend for the rest of League Two as Coventry fell off the top spot and Yeovil Town produced another goal-fest in this week’s League Two Round-Up.
The Robins now lead the table going into the fourth game of the season, courtesy of Donal McDermott’s first-half goal at Morecambe. Swindon remain undefeated this season with two wins and a draw.
Following closely behind is Exeter, as they hope to go one better from last season where they lost to Blackpool in the play-off final. Rueben Reid got the only goal in the game, as they beat Lincoln City 1-0.
Luton Town managed to bounce back from their 1-0 loss to Barnet last week to defeat Colchester United 3-0 at Kenilworth Road. The Hatters have scored the most goals in the league, despite losing Isaac Vassell to Birmingham City last week.
Coventry City lost their top spot over the weekend after losing to Newport County, 1-0 at the Ricoh. Reece Cole’s goal was enough to deny the Sky Blues a perfect start to life in League Two as they dropped to 4th and Newport, jumped to 9th.
Carlisle United, Accrington Stanley and Notts County make up the remaining three play-off spots after all grabbing victories.
Stevenage and Crewe Alexandra follow closely behind the top seven, after they both earned victories against Grimsby Town and Wycombe Wanderers.
Mansfield Town and Barnet suffered defeats, meaning they drop to 11th and 12th in League Two.
Forest Green Rovers got their first win in Football League competition as they beat Yeovil Town in a seven-goal thriller. After going 3-1 down at The New Lawn Ground, a thrilling second-half from Rovers saw their side’s first win in League Two and helped them go to 15th in the league.
Chesterfield also saw their first win of the season as they defeated Port Vale at home. Two first-half goals were enough to raise them out of the relegation zone and take them to 19th in hope of chasing promotion.
It was another disappointing weekend for Harry Kewell’s Crawley Town as they now make it three losses in a row, after falling to Cambridge United. They remain bottom after three games.
