Vale Park host annual Xmas Carol Service

7 December 2018

Port Vale were once again pleased to host the annual Christmas Carol Service in the Valiant Suite yesterday afternoon.

Organised by Vale's club captain Tom Pope, John Hibberts and the Swan Bank Church in Burslem, we welcomed over 150 children from four of the local schools to join us for the carol service.

Students and teachers from primary schools St Thomas in Kidsgrove, St Nathaniels, Moor Park and Jackfield in Burslem, stood proud on stage as they each sung their choice of Christmas songs to the onlooking parents and Port Vale players and managing staff.

As well as the songs by the students and Neil Aspin reciting a Christmas poem, the players joined in with the students in recreating a nativity set, with Ben Whitfield going the extra mile by wearing angel wings and a halo!

Whitfield wasn't the only one however that joined in with making it a memorable carol service for the children, as the players joined with everyone else singing "The Wonder of You", sung by John Hibbert. This was followed by the children having their special Port Vale autographs sheets signed by each of the players and management staff, and having the opportunity to speak to some of their favourite players.
