Port Vale Foundation Trust are delighted to announce the launch of three Wildcats centres across the city, and these will be available to girls between the ages of five and 11 years old.
Last year saw the successful running of two centres and that helped create two junior female age groups, with the Under 8s and the Under 10s representing the club this season as a result.
SSE Wildcats Girls' Football Club will provide young females with regular opportunities to play football and take part in organised sessions in a fun and engaging environment created exclusively for girls.
The clubs will run from spring through until the summer on a weekly basis, with activities such as football fitness sessions on offer to those bringing children along.
This initiative follows the launch of the FA's Gameplan for Growth, which outlined the target of doubling girls' participation in the sport by 2020. Sessions will involve plenty of fun and they are available for any ability level, and there will be an opportunity to win prizes on a weekly basis.
Kerri Welsh, Female Football Development Officer at the Port Vale Foundation said: "I am delighted we have been successful in our bid to run further Wildcats centres this year, especially following the success of the centres during the previous year.
"We want to continue providing opportunities across the city for girls to try football for the first time or to join us where we can help them on their footballing journey in a fun and engaging learning environment."
