Match Preview - Rochdale

4 April 2017

Here is our preview of tonight's game against Rochdale.

Fixture – Rochdale vs Port Vale

Date – 4th April 2017

Venue – Spotland

Preview

Vale head into the game looking for back to back wins for the first time since they last faced Rochdale in August.

The Valiants picked up three points against Wimbledon at Vale Park and recorded their second consecutive clean sheet.

Which means Vale head into the game in the same form as earlier in the season, with back to back clean sheets, following a draw and a win.

This is one of Vale’s games in hand that they have and gives them a chance to extend the gap at the bottom.

The Opposition

The hosts still have an outside chance to make the play-offs and are in need of three points to keep them slim chances open.

Dale will be looking to bounce back after going without a win in the past two games, after conceding late on against Northampton last time out.

The last time Vale faced Rochdale, Nathan Smith scored the only goal of the game to give the Valiants all three points.

Talk

Brown: "We had the week's break and I thought it certainly helped us. I thought the stats and the work ethic were excellent. I think it (the break) did help but this is where we are.

“We have games, we have got to take them and let's try to see if we can win a mid-weeker or an away game which is what we have been waiting to do. Hopefully we can get another result towards our target.”

Hill: “We’re trying put a team together to win matches and we got a point on Saturday but it felt like a loss.

“My job as a manager is to recover quickly and I can do that and I will make sure we lead the players into the game against Port Vale.”
