Michael Brown Talks Fitness and Reserves

23 September 2016

Port Vale reserves played Morecambe reserves mid-week, where a number of Vale first team players made an appearance in a bid to improve their fitness.

Amongst the players making an appearance was Assistant Manager Michael Brown, who is still recovering from a lengthy lay-off.

He spoke exclusively to Valiant PlayerHD mid-week about his recovery.

“It is nice to get on the pitch with a nice bunch of professionals and a couple of young lads too.

“Personally, it was great for myself to last the 90 minutes, to test my knees out a bit more and get some fitness in.”

With a game mid-week, this was a good opportunity for the players fighting for starting positions in the first 11, to improve their form, which Brown thinks is important for this season:

“We needed to be a bit more clinical. We could have won by five or six in that game.

“That is something as a club that we need to learn, to kill games off, first team especially. It is something we are trying to get into the players minds, being as ruthless as we can.”
