Take a look at what the manager had to say ahead of the meeting between the two sides Wednesday night.
Tomorrow night, Port Vale will entertain another Championship side, this time in the form of Gary Rowett’s Birmingham City.
The Blues were in a battle for the play-offs last season and will prove another challenge for Vale, something Bruno Ribeiro has insisted he wants for his side.
Last week, Bruno told Valiant PlayerHD, he wanted his team to play against opposition in higher divisions, to test his players and find the faults, which would need improving for the start of the season.
Having already played against Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers, Ribeiro is expecting a similar challenge Wednesday night, but is hoping his side can add goals this time round.
He said: “Championship clubs are good for learning, they have experienced players and we are learning so much in positions, being organised and defensively.
“We just need more in the final third and in these games it very good for us for learning and we can expect the same as the other side from Birmingham.
“Hopefully we can continue improving game by game and now we can try and score to win the games, we are good defensively now, but we need to add some goals for our hard work.”
