For the second week in a row Port Vale defender Ben Purkiss has been named in the Football League Paper’s League One Team of the Day.
The 32-year-old’s inclusion is in recognition of his performance on Saturday against Rochdale, who the Valiants beat 4-1.
Once again Purkiss was deployed as a wing back by manager Rob Page and played a vital role in the victory, as he did at Gillingham seven days earlier.
