Timmins Targets Rapport With Goalkeepers

1 July 2015

New goalkeeping coach Dave Timmins is looking forward to building a rapport with the current crop of Port Vale shot-stoppers.

Timmins was announced as the second new member of manager Rob Page’s backroom staff on Tuesday afternoon.

He has previously worked with Vale number one Chris Neal during his time at Preston North End and Shrewsbury Town.

Speaking exclusively to Valiant Player, Timmins said he is excited to be reunited with Neal and to develop training both individually and collectively.

“A professional relationship is very important,” he said. “They’re all treated the same, all the training sessions will be based on a goalkeeping structure but as well as individuals.

“Because the youth keepers as well, they’ll all be individually different and so it’s my job then to work them differently in the session.

“Different things happen and anything that needs to be done, we’ll work on it and whatever it takes to make them better.”
